What have you put on your Amazon wishlist for your dorm?

Are there any things that you took to college that you later realized were a waste of space? Was there something that your roommate had that you realized you absolutely should have brought with you?

Heyy,
Personally, I would definitely recommend bringing a lamp — the dorm room lights aren't always the best. One semester, my friend’s room lights didn’t work at all, and she had no light until she finally bought a small lamp. Another recommendation would be a Brita filter. Sometimes the dorm water isn’t the cleanest, and it’s nice to have fresh, filtered water right in your room.

I’d also suggest bringing a vacuum and a mattress topper — both made a huge difference for me. And whether you believe the investment is worth it or not, a little decor goes a long way in making the space feel more lively and personal.

A small bucket with basic cleaning supplies (like Clorox wipes, Lysol spray, etc.) can really help you out too. I also highly recommend having two sets of utensils plus a pack of disposable ones. There will definitely be times when you’re too tired to wash a fork or spoon, or when you just forget to grab one altogether.

Also having extra storage or a little cart with daily essentials makes it easier in a small room.

Hey Mackenzie! Love that you're thinking ahead I know I spent lots of time going through dorm room tour videos for inspo on YouTube. I found aromatherapy diffusers or air filters really helped me keep my dorm a calming place to settle in and same with a good lamp so the overhead lighting in most college dorms could be swapped out. A great mattress topper is important too since you need lots of good rest to keep that mind sharp! To help ease homesickness too I had family photos to look at and a calendar with my trips home planned out.

All the best in your college journey!
