Hi Ashlyn :),
I would recommend writing often and reading even more. As an English major, I learned how powerful language can be. It can move people, shape narratives, and spark change. Practice your craft, find your voice, and don't be afraid to explore different genres and styles. Share your work, get feedback often, be open to revision. Stay curious and consistent and your words will take you where you are meant to go!
Best of luck!

Hi Ashlyn,
Thanks for sharing this post! Your goals are truly inspiring. As a fellow Freelance Writer, I recommend writing every day. Seek out chances to share your work, whether it's through guest posts or on platforms like Medium to grow your portfolio. Most importantly, keep going. Even if you hit writer's block or things take time to get moving, focus on improving your skills and writing about what matters to you. You can do it!

Hi Ashlyn,
My advice is to get as much real-world writing experience as possible through internships, part-time jobs, school clubs, extracurriculars, etc. I majored in English in college, and while that was very helpful at improving my writing skills, writing experiences outside of the classroom taught me a lot about different non-academic styles of writing. During job interviews, I talked much more about these outside experiences than my academic writing.
Good luck!
