You're on your way to being smart with money! If you're aiming to save up for something big like an iPhone, here are some easy ways to earn money close to home:

- Babysitting
- Dog walking
- Yard work
- Tutoring
- Selling crafts or art
- Helping neighbors with tech
- Recycling for cash

Saving for an iPhone is a fantastic goal. But there's more to it than just getting a phone. You're learning how to earn and save, which is a big step toward managing your future. While the iPhone is a great target, you're really building something much more important—financial responsibility.

Phones come and go, but knowing how to earn money, make smart choices, and work toward goals is a skill you'll have forever.

Keep it up! This is just the start of your journey!

A Resume Review Service would guide you to focus on your strengths, even at 13—like responsibility, creativity, or reliability. Since full-time jobs aren’t allowed at your age in California, consider age-appropriate, local options like dog walking, lawn care, tutoring younger kids, or helping neighbors with tech tasks. Highlight these experiences in a simple, one-page resume. A Resume Review Service can help you organize your skills clearly, so you can confidently offer your services and start earning toward your iPhone 14 Pro goal.

Justine;

I commend you being 13 and wanting to earn money. Unfortunately you are going to be limited with a regular job due to child labor laws. So you have to think outside the box a little.

1. Dog Walker: Apps like Rover and Wag, you can set up a profile and interview to care for peoples animals while they are at work or on vacation. Good reviews will hopefully gain you more jobs. Plus you can chose locations in your neighborhood or close by that maybe a parent could take you to.

2. Baby Sitting: Get qualified in CPR and if your local community has it take some child care certification classes Make fliers up and hand them out in the neighborhood.

3. This one you will have to research and may not be available in your area. I had a friend when I was growing up. Her family didn't have a lot of disposable income and she liked designer clothes. In the summer time, she would go to work in the tobacco fields of Georgia as a migrant worker to earn money to buy her wardrobe for the next school year. Of course this requires parents agreements and permissions.

Lastly, not sure what the back story is, but what is your parents stance on you having a phone at 13? Regardless if you earn the money to buy it, what good is it if you are not allowed to use it. In addition, subscription rates and data rates are not cheap, you will need your parents support to keep up the monthly costs.

I commend you being 13 and wanting to earn money. Not sure about your interest, but start exploring trading and investing. There is a great example of well known name, Warren Buffet who started at the age of 11. You can start small and learn a lot about finance, economics while you earn. Even these days, there are low risk trading opportunities are there, which doesn't require any capital investment.
