What activites can I do for my SAVE Club?

The SAVE Promise club is a student-led organization focused on violence prevention in schools. My teacher asked for some fun activities we could do through the year and I couldn't think of anything. What are some activities we could do?

Congratulations on taking the initiative to stand against violence in your school. Safety at schools is the one critical element that can enable great learning outcomes for kids
Here's some year-Round SAVE Club Activity Ideas

Fall Semester
Start With Hello Week (September)
Hello Wall – Set up a giant poster where students can write kind greetings.
Buddy Bench Campaign – Paint and promote a buddy bench where students can sit if they need someone to talk to.
Kindness Scavenger Hunt – Encourage students to perform kind acts and collect checkmarks or tokens.
Chalk the Walk
Cover school sidewalks with positive messages using sidewalk chalk. Invite the whole school to participate.
"You Matter" Day
Hand out "You Matter" notes or bracelets.
Kindness Rocks Garden
Paint rocks with kind messages and place them around the school garden or entrance.

Winter Semester
Holiday Cards for Heroes
Organize a letter/card-writing drive for local first responders, veterans, or hospital staff.
Inclusion Spirit Week
Themes like “Mix-it-up Monday” (sit with someone new at lunch), “Thankful Thursday” (write appreciation notes), etc.
"Catch a Compliment" Campaign
Create a compliment board where students leave anonymous compliments.
Pass around “compliment coupons” that students can give to each other.

Spring Semester
Say Something Week (March)
Host assemblies, video campaigns, and peer-led discussions about recognizing warning signs of violence or isolation.
Create interactive bulletin boards like “Who’s Your Trusted Adult?”
Peace Chain
Have students write peaceful intentions or kind actions on paper links and connect them to form a chain displayed in the hallway.
Kindness Bingo
Create a bingo card with small acts of kindness (ex: “Hold the door,” “Say hello to 3 new people”) and offer small prizes for completed cards.
Anti-Bullying Poster Contest
Invite students to design posters that promote inclusion and standing up against bullying.

Year-End or Anytime Events
SAVE Club Talent Show / Open Mic
Theme it around positivity, kindness, and unity.
Unity Wall
Students leave handprints or positive messages on a mural wall symbolizing standing together.
Friendship Bracelet Day
Teach students how to make and exchange bracelets to promote connection and inclusivity.
SAVE Club Carnival / Peace Picnic
Organize a school-wide event with games, music, and booths that promote kindness and awareness of the club’s mission.

Tips
Use social media (if allowed) or school announcements to share SAVE messages and highlight student efforts.
Partner with other clubs (e.g., drama, art, student government) to amplify the message.
Encourage student leadership and creativity—the more they own the activities, the more powerful the impact.

Good luck!

Marianna’s Answer

You could do small but meaningful activities like creating a “Kindness Wall” where students leave positive notes. Another idea is a poster-making day about empathy, anti-bullying, or kindness. But the goal isn’t just the posters—it’s about making the process fun and meaningful for the students involved. Create a relaxed, welcoming space with music, snacks, and open conversation while making the posters. The posters are just the result—the real impact comes from the atmosphere you create.
