Hi, Cleo !
Wow, I have a lot of advice for you and this is coming from someone who has lived with models and been around modeling. There is a lot you'll need to know about this career and it's NOT all about posing and photos.
If you are starting out, you first should go to Modeling School. Do nothing before you are fully trained and understand the business. Absolutely do not use social media to put your photos and information - it's not done that way and can cause problems. This is a BUSINESS and you will need a full understanding of it plus the skills to work in all media.
About posing in front of a mirror ? Only if you want to see what you look like, otherwise, that is not going to help you with Modeling Skills. When you arrive at a photo session, you'll know the product and theme and enter the set. It's the Photographer that is going to talk with you and direct you and bring out what they need for the photos. This is why Modeling School is so necessary first because people have an imagined idea of it. Like other careers, it pays to learn exactly what it entails. As an Actress, I have had and have many photo sessions for promo materials, both pre-digital and now digital. It's not exactly modeling, but similar when you have a photo session as an actress. The photographers really have a way of triggering the right moves for great photos !
Most of your Modeling Schools are located in or near Manila or Quezon City, however. You didn't mention your age and that can be a factor, too. You will have a time of it if you try to become a model without training, though. Try to see how you can get in person, on site training. To do it otherwise will present problems and disappointment. Also, not everyone who applies to modeling school gets accepted. These are some things to think about because the nature of this business requires great social and professional insight. I can only advise you to go about it the professional way and online is not the way. Once you are trained, you can register at online Model Websites that companies go to for choosing models to interview. Be very careful how you start out. If you are under 18, you're going to have to have one of your parents oversee and accompany you during a path for Modeling.
There's a lot more. Keep inquiring about this career if you are sure you are serious about it. Become familiar with the noted Fashion Designers in your country and Internationally. Learn the modeling techniques needed for Television, Film, Runway and Photography if you want to make this a serious career. And again, be very careful, have a parent's oversight and do not use social media for modeling.
I hope you find a great modeling school and I wish you all the best !

First believe in yourself! You are pretty! You will be a model! Speak it into existence. I am a model representing the Philippines and I am going to get a contract. I know it's what I am passionate about and I enjoyed it as a kid. Be confident. You will do well. You are the one to represent the Philippines and you will open doors for other women. I believe in you! You should be at least twenty -one and have a parent or hire an agent because the modeling industry can take advantage of you and you want to weigh the pros and cons financially and how much time you would have to devote and it might not be the right time to get into modeling.
You should talk to your parents if you are under nineteen because the modeling industry can take advantage of you because you are inexperienced..Be safe.. You should hire an agent to be with you when you go to photo shoots for safety or a parent or adult relative. The industry is fast paced and they do a lot at night. You don't have experience and they will prey on you. I would think this through and see how much it would cost you financially and how much time you would have to devote to develop your craft and weigh the pros and cons and the answer might be to wait until you have the agent who can guide you through the modeling industry and protect you..It's best not to jump into it without resources and family support..If you are under 21 it's not a good time because they might have you in places you are too young for and it's illegal in the United States. Go talk to the modeling industry and they will advise you and bring an adult with you so they can guide you too.

Hi Cleo!
If modeling is your dream, start by boosting your confidence and finding your best angles. Practice in front of a mirror to improve your posture, facial expressions, and natural hand movements. Remember, you don't need to fit a specific mold; areas like commercial, lifestyle, and social media modeling celebrate diversity. Take some clear, bright photos with simple outfits and minimal makeup. Look for local photographers or modeling agencies around Capiz City or nearby areas, and always research them to avoid scams. Create an online portfolio on Instagram or Facebook to show off your work. In modeling, your passion, persistence, and professionalism often count more than perfection.

That’s a wonderful dream, and modeling is about much more than just looks—it’s also about confidence, personality, and how you present yourself!
How to apply to be a model:
-Build a simple portfolio: You don’t need professional photos to start—ask a friend or family member to take a few clear, well-lit photos of you. Include a headshot and a full-body photo in simple clothing (like jeans and a t-shirt).
-Research agencies: Look for reputable modeling agencies in your area (for example, Manila has several well-known agencies). Check their websites for application instructions—many accept online submissions.
-Submit your photos and information: Agencies usually ask for basic details (height, age, contact info) and a few photos.
-Practice self-care: Take care of your skin, eat healthy, and get enough rest. Confidence and health shine through in photos.
-Stay alert for scams: Real agencies don’t ask for large fees upfront. Always be careful and bring a trusted adult with you if you go to an audition or meeting.
Tips:
-Relax and be yourself. The best poses show your confidence and unique personality. Try standing tall, relaxing your shoulders, and smiling naturally. Practice in front of a mirror to find poses that feel comfortable for you.
-Look at magazines or social media for inspiration and practice copying different poses to find your style.
Know that there isn’t one “perfect” look for modeling because agencies and brands look for all types of models, and confidence is key. Believe in yourself, keep practicing, and don’t give up on your dream!
If you want to learn more, consider joining community workshops or online groups that support young models in our country. Good luck!
