Hello, Amani !

If you are asking about modeling professionally at age 16 I can give you some advice. There is no such thing as a "face model". A project may be described as a portrait or face gig, but if you intend to enter the professional modeling world, you would obtain professional training as a Model.

The best way to know if professional modeling would be for you would be to start learning about the career as well as how the business is run. It may be fun and ego satisfying to do casual picture taking at home with friends and experiment with makeup and clothes, but the Modeling field of work is not anything like that. It takes a lot of training to know all types of modeling and work on the runway, film, television, videos, commercials and any other types of projects. It is demanding and you'd have to know how to work with a diverse group of people, take direction and at 16, if you go into it professionally, you'd have to miss a lot of school because of working as a model. There's travel involved, your parent would have to sign any contracts and understand them, and your parent would have to be with you for all of it and pay for Modeling School. Once you are 18, you can pursue this career on your own.

There is a growing demand for petite models but the height requirement to be considered petite for modeling is between 5'2" and 5'6". The types of modeling they get called for are for lingerie, swimwear, and body-part modeling like hands, feet, face or legs. One would have to have an exceptional face for them not to consider height. You can look up We Speak and State Management to read about these agencies that choose petite models that are between 5'2" and 5'6".

If you are able to make the commitment and your parent is willing to oversee your path also providing transportation wherever you get work, you start with training at a modeling school. Your modeling instructors will let you know if you have potential. No one who can't see you can evaluate you, so training is crucial and that's where you'll also learn about how the industry is run. You live about two hours from New York City, so think about having your parent take you to a modeling school/agency in NYC to meet with them in person. You can apply to Modeling Schools online, too by doing a search online for modeling schools in Camden or in NYC. Modeling is a lot of work, time, dedication and you'll need a lot of support at age 16. If this is not doable now, continue to seek opportunities in your community as a hobby and then pursue it seriously when you are 18 on your own.

There's a lot more information you'd need to know, but I hope this helps for a start. Take it slow, develop an appreciation for the creative aspect of modeling and learn the business. It's a lot more than what many young people think.

Best wishes in all you do !
