In terms of what you can do I would say to focus on what your goals are, find your interests, look at what skills you have, look at different job opportunities and keep doing research to find what you want because it will take time to find something that interests you. It's not impossible; check out local biotech companies (Lampire, Merck, GSK, and J&J all do these) , universities (Drexel does this as do local, smaller universities and community colleges), volunteer programs (Science Week in Philadelphia is an example, Girls on the Run) for experience. In college, you can also ask your professors for advice and whether or not they are willing to train or mentor undergrads in their labs. From here you can discover whether you enjoy research and learn about how to perform it.
