Hi Kent. You need to plan ahead. At the beginning of each semester, you can write down all your important dates like class schedules, exam days, and assignment deadlines in a planner or digital calendar. This helps you see what's coming and prevents last-minute surprises. Then, each week, create a to-do list or weekly plan. Also, you can divide big projects into smaller tasks and spread them out over several days. For example, instead of writing a paper the night before it's due, plan to research one day, outline the next, and write gradually.
Another key to managing time well is setting priorities. Not all tasks are equally important. You should focus on what matters most each day, like assignments due soon, studying for upcoming exams, or projects that require more time.
Also, you might need to create a daily routine that balances study, rest, and personal time. Avoid multitasking, as it can reduce the quality of your work. Instead, focus on one task at a time. All the best.

Hi! I am currently a college student and have battler with this same question. To be honest, it really depends on the person. I know that's generic and a boring answer, but you need to experiment and find what works for you. Find your learning style and how you best understand the material. Once you figure that out, plan out your days. Devote 2 hours for each credit your classes are. For example, a 4 credit course, you should spend 8 hours working outside of class. It sounds daunting, and it will be challenging, but planning out your time in advance will stop that constant cramming and stress. Make sure to schedule in fun activities like hanging out with friends and spending time with family. You're still a person who needs down time :) Good luck with school!

Kent,
That is a challenging question. Effective answers will vary person to person. Asking the question is the first step to finding out what will work best for you. Kudos!
I am currently working on my Bachelor's. What works best for me has been to establish routines. I have time set aside every day for studying. I study at that time, even over breaks, so I stay in the habit. At the beginning of every session, I map out the assignments, creating smaller checkpoints to keep me on track.
All the best,
Heather
