Hi there,
First, remember to check your spelling in all your messages. Also, ensure your resume includes all important details. Lastly, try to connect with a few people in the company you're interested in and ask for their feedback. Hope this helps!

Hello, James !

Internships are given to college students, usually in their Junior or Senior year because at that time, a student will have foundational knowledge of a subject enough to do an internship. Internships are also given to college students after they graduate.

Since you are applying to colleges for Business and you are in New York City, I would suggest including Baruch among your prospective colleges to apply to. Their Business department does indeed place for internships when students are in their Junior and Senior year.

Instead of interning, you can consider volunteer work at this time. I would advise seeking a volunteer position that you can start now through the summer. Once you enroll in college, wait to see how it is the first semester before adding things to your schedule.

Here are some programs that you can get experience in currently : Projekt NYC is a Queens-based nonprofit that empowers middle and high school students through internships and volunteer work in leadership, entrepreneurship, and creative arts. Volunteer New York! offers Civic Engagement Workshops designed for high school students interested in leadership and community impact. The All Stars Project, Inc. which can provide an opportunity for you to obtain experience in non-profit management, public speaking, and team collaboration, all valuable in business settings. NYC Service - Youth Action 50 is a program that teaches how to design campaigns, manage teams, and influence decision making which are core competencies in any business environment.

Additional resources for volunteer work in Business would be Apex For Youth, Central Park Conservancy, and see if New York Cares has any volunteer opportunities in the business sector at this time.

You can check the notices at Indeed and Linked In for Internships for High School Students to see if there are any. You can also ask your high school guidance counselor but also ask about any program the counselor may know about. That being said, I believe that it will be easier and quicker for you to connect with volunteer work so you can get started on your experience as soon as you'd like.

I hope this helps and I wish you all the best !
