Balancing work and life as a hospitality manager can be tough, especially with other interests or distractions.
To succeed, dive into your work with dedication. In the early years of your career, staying focused and committed is the quickest way to grow and gain recognition.
Aim to move out of middle/site management as soon as possible. Once you reach a regional management position, you'll enjoy more flexibility.
Enjoy your work, stay focused, and bring a positive attitude that upper management will notice. Keep striving for success!

Morning Maryn,
First- Do your research and find a company that has work life balance as part of their DNA. Talk with actual team members and validate their experiences.
Second- Invest in the time to plan your workday, week, month etc. Time invested in the planning will allow you to execute better and have 20% extra to resolve the unexpected challenges that always seem to crop up.
Third- Grow your teams and empower them to achieve the goals of the brand. Try to do everything yourself and you will have short team success most often followed by less than great results or unhealthy stress and potential burn out.
Last- Disconnect when you can and allow yourself real rest. Checking emails and calling your job constantly is not rest.
Hope this helps.
Cheers

Finding a good "work-life balance" can be tough, especially when you're growing your career. But remember, the choice is yours. Everyone has different goals, and what works for one person might not work for another. If you aim to be a top manager or high earner, especially in the hospitality industry, it might mean working hard and making sacrifices. But if you're happy with a steady job that pays well and has regular hours, those options are out there too. It's all about choosing what fits your life best. You have the power to decide.
