How long does it take colleges to process your FAFSA number and create a package for you and what does it mean if it originally says that I am not eligible for federal/State aid #Fall25?

I am a senior in high school waiting for more info about financial support for a college I am interested in. #Fall25

Hi Frehiwot,

Well Fall 2025 would be from last August until the winter break, I'm guessing it's because it is already too late to apply for aid. If i recall correctly students usually apply to FAFSA in the spring so it will be approved by the fall semester. I hope that makes sense
Thank you comment icon Thank you so much for your response! I only used that hashtag because it was part of a scholarship they offer on this website. I filled out the FAFSA in October, and now the college is giving me an estimate of my financial aid. In the federal and state section, it says, “According to the financial data submitted in your financial aid pre-read application, you are not eligible for any additional state or federal grants.” I wasn’t sure if that meant I wouldn’t receive any money relating to FAFSA, so I just wanted to clarify. If you know anything else about how that works, I’d love to hear it. Frehiwot
Thank you comment icon Frehiwot, The best way to figure this out would be to ask the financial aid office at the college directly for clarification. Brian Swain
