What study habits work best?
I am a senior in high school and am going to college next fall. I am planning on majoring in Pre-Med and would like tips for studying. Any examples/ideas would help.

Hi Abbigail. You need to set up a regular study routine. Instead of studying only when you feel stressed or right before a test, you should choose specific times each day to review your notes or work on assignments.
Another important habit is to study actively instead of just reading over your notes. Active studying means doing things that help your brain process the information. For example, try explaining a concept out loud as if you're teaching it, or rewrite a topic in your own words.
You can also study in this way: 25 minutes of focused studying followed by a short 5-minute break. These brief breaks help your brain reset, so you stay focused longer.
Your study environment matters too. You need to choose a quiet place where you can focus, like a library or a calm spot at home. Keep the area neat and free of distractions. Also, don't be afraid to ask for help. In college, professors and teaching assistants offer office hours specifically for answering questions.

My best advice is to make a schedule that includes everything important to you. This means setting aside time for friends, hobbies, work (if you have a job), and studying. By doing this, you can make sure you balance all your priorities, including your studies.
