Managing your time can feel challenging, but it's a skill you can master. Here are some uplifting tips to help you make the most of your day:
1. Use Two Simple Lists
- Keep a calendar for all your upcoming activities.
- Make a daily list of what you want to achieve each day.
2. Break Down Tasks
- Divide big tasks into smaller, easy steps to prevent procrastination.
- For instance, instead of "Study biology," try "Review photosynthesis notes for 15 minutes and do 10 practice questions."
3. Plan for Tomorrow
- At the end of each day, move any unfinished tasks to the next day and list what needs to be done.
4. Schedule Your Day
- Instead of putting things off, set specific times for tasks and allow extra time for unexpected delays.
5. Stay Focused
- Keep distractions like your phone out of sight.
- Work in focused bursts with short breaks for snacks and movement to keep your energy high.
6. Prioritize Sleep and Energy
- Being well-rested boosts your productivity. Try to go to bed at the same time each night and tackle important tasks when you're most alert.
These steps can guide you to better time management and make your day more productive!

A good reminder each day is that the effort you put in will either get you closer to the life you want or further away. By not doing the work, you are only cheating yourself. Especially since you are paying for college.
Find a study group that you can join. Having that accountability and others who want to be successful can be helpful. I also found it to be helpful to go to the library and study there. Studying in my dorm room, it was too easy to get on my computer and play a game or to hop on the TV instead. Whatever you can do to put yourself in a great position, you should do it.
