Jerome’s Answer

I attended community college for my first couple years and it saved me a TON compared to doing a 4 year university the whole time. From there, it’s rare a college will give you a break unless you get a scholarship from them. There are a few nonprofits in each community that will provide books scholarships or other financial support. I would start asking around as you may be surprised what you find.

Some jobs also offer tuition reimbursement, even working part time. You might be able to offset your education cost that way.

Margarita’s Answer

Look for a financial advisor in college or high school. Ask at Bursar office.
There are ways to go to college tuition-free at CUNY/SUNY if you show poor financial standing.
Fill out FASFA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) form. You may qualify for Pell grant through FAFSA as well. You may also look for scholarships. There are A LOT of them out there.
Good luck.
