Hi Mackenzie,

You will only know if you can handle doing all those things if you try. Do you have to commit to a softball team? are you obligated to play? If not, then you can choose not to play softball and focus on classes. I hope this helps, and I wish you the best of luck

Congrats on playing college softball, that's a huge accomplishment already!

I think it starts with how you are perceiving your activities. Maybe softball and exercising will feel like a good relief from your classes. You will be working hard on both a mental and physical level, so it will take a lot of work, but I think it will also be a lot of fun.

Try and get plenty of sleep in college (I know it can be tough, but this is key). Also communicate with your mentors/teachers about how you are feeling. If you feel overwhelmed have a conversation and in general most people will be understanding of your situation and give you advice specific to you. You got this!

Joseph’s Answer

It comes down to goals and priorities. Where do you see yourself five years after college? If you aim to become a nurse, focus your time and energy on earning a nursing degree. If you want to be a professional softball player, dedicate your efforts to achieving that. Remember, time spent on one goal means less time for another. Without focus, you might only be "good enough" at either nursing or softball, wishing you had invested more time and effort.
