What is the first step to start acting?

I am 12 years old, and I have taken an interest in acting after watching various movies and shows. I would play any role, in movies shows or commercials.
I have not taken any acting classes yet, really want to though.

Hello, Ace !

The first step to acting is acting lessons. See if your school has a theatre club and does shows and connect with that group. If your school does not have this, you will need to seek in person, on site acting classes in your community.

Old Town Playhouse's Young Company offers year round classes, workshops, camps, and performance opportunities for youth ages 5 to 18, so have your parent take you there to sign up for classes. They produce four shows a year, so you will start to gain some acting experience by studying with them. Drama Kids of Northwest Michigan offers community acting classes for children held at various locations. Crooked Tree Arts Center provides year round classes for grades K–12, including after school programs and summer camps, with opportunities in theatre and other arts. Explore these training opportunities to get you started. Your parent will need to be involved and oversee all you do for acting. Continue your training and gaining experience all throughout junior high and high school.

Consider attending college as a Theatre Major. Going for your Bachelors Degree will give you four years of advanced training and teach you how to do this career. Also at college, do lots of shows and make strong connections in your theatre department.

I hope this helps and I wish you all the best !
