To the teachers out there, would you say that although the career can be difficult, it is worth the effort? What makes it worth it?
Hello from a senior from a tiny town in Texas! I am very interested on becoming a teacher/educator. Thank you so much to whoever reads my question!

Hi Naomi. As someone who has worked as both a teacher and a lecturer, I can honestly say that while the teaching profession can be tough, it's also one of the most rewarding careers you can choose.
Teaching is definitely a demanding career. Between preparing lessons, grading papers, managing a classroom, and making sure each student gets the help they need, it can feel like there's always something to do. And even as a lecturer, I can say that the responsibilities don't go away; you always have to keep your students engaged and help them succeed. It can be tiring, and you might work long hours, but the impact you have on your students is what makes it worthwhile.
The best part of teaching is seeing your students grow. When a student who has been struggling finally understands a lesson or when you see them become more confident in their abilities, it's an amazing feeling. It's not just about grades, it's about watching your students develop and knowing that you helped them along the way. Sometimes, students come back years later and thank you for something you taught them, or they tell you how much you influenced their life. Moments like these remind you why you chose teaching and keep you going when things get tough.
Another rewarding part of teaching is the connections you make with students. As a teacher, you become more than just someone who teaches a subject. You become a mentor, someone they can look up to, ask for advice, or turn to for help. The relationships you build with students can be very special and last long after they leave your classroom.
If you're thinking about becoming a teacher, I'd say stay passionate about your subject and your students. Don't just focus on the lessons you teach, you need to focus on helping your students grow and succeed. Also, remember to take care of yourself. Teaching can be emotionally draining, so it's important to take breaks and make time for yourself.
Yes, teaching can be difficult, but it's also a very meaningful career. Wishing you all the best.
