What should I pursue in engineering?

I love things like LEGOs and tinkering with my electronics which have always fostered a sense enjoyment from either fixing or altering something to make it better.

The question is almost unmanageably broad. You’ll be faced with sone key decisions on any engineering curriculum - which branch (mechanical, et electrical, civil, software…) on your way to a career choice. “Tinkering with things” might be exactly what you’re looking for if you envision a path involving design of machines, circuits, or structures. So maybe that’s your first instinct; just don’t close your eyes too soon to many other fields such as analog or digital circuit design, modeling of heat transfer, divine veneering, test & evaluation, systems design, performance modeling…

Teklemuz Ayenew’s Answer

If you enjoy LEGOs, tinkering, and electronics, mechanical engineering could be perfect for your passion for building and improving things. Electrical or electronics engineering is another great option, and mechatronics or robotics combines both fields for even more possibilities. You can start with small projects, robotics kits, or microcontrollers. Learning CAD and circuit design will also boost your skills. Try experimenting, keep track of your projects, and get involved in clubs or competitions to find out what excites you the most.
