For the safety of all, there are many rules and regulations and standards that one must learn. All hospital employees go through an orientation process to help with this, so people have a good, but imperfect start to their work. Physicians learn most of this during medical school and residency.
Big items to know include HIPAA (patient information privacy), how to use their electronic health record, and how to use personal protective equipment properly. Then it is up to what job one has - how to safely use any equipment, radiation safety, medication safety, how to avoid wrong patient/wrong therapy/wrong test...
It is also very important to know who to ask for help and who to go to when you feel something isn't being done properly (most hospitals are very good at having systems to reward - not punish - whistleblowers.
In my opinion, nobody should work for a hospital that doesn't encourage the sharing of problems and issues. Problems always exist, and we can't improve care without learning about and addressing problems.
