How does an undergraduate student balance getting good grades and the stress of gaining experience to make it in to veterinary school?
I am a college freshman majoring in animal sciences so I can become a veterinarian after I've graduated. My interests right now are large and small animal practices.

Hi Meika,
Vet schools cut on GPA before they even look at experience.
So the priority stack is:
Protect your GPA
Build experience gradually
Add extras only when stable
Think of GPA as the “qualifying exam” and experience as the “differentiator.”
Keep open communication with your supervisor or vet
Most vets know students need balance.
Ask for:
Set weekly hours
Breaks during exam weeks
Flexible shifts during finals
You’ll be surprised how supportive they can be
All the best & hope some of these pointers help you.
