Apply for as many grants and scholarships as you can find. Billions of dollars go unclaimed every year. There are niche grants for every subgroup you can imagine. If you apply for 3 a day between now and the start of school next fall, you should be able to get shool paid for without a loan.

Stay away from loans. They're a life long yoke around your neck.

Look beyond your school or community.
