What kind of details could I put in my resume that is preferable in the food service industry?
My goal is to become a pastry chef or become a cook, but I haven't exactly developed the skills for it, except for the fact that I know a lot of things about ingredients and food in general.

There are always organizations that are looking for volunteers. Some of those might be kitchens that support the community. You could get practical experience that can easily be added to your resume. Many of these places will also offer training to some degree.
Pair that with the fact that many community colleges offer a certificate or associates degree in culinary and you could be on your way to living your dream

Jerome, first you need to decide if you want to be a cook or a pastry chef. These are two different jobs and require different skills.
Second, when applying for a job, read the job listing and description carefully. There will be keywords and phrases that tell you what they are looking for. If you possess those skills, mention them in your resume and letter of introduction. The next step is to get an interview. Ask questions in the interview about the job and the company. Whenever possible, tell them why you are a good fit for that job.
Best of luck
