There are a variety of types of nurses, drawing from a mix of the different methods of categorizing their roles. They are not mutually exclusive. For example, RNs can be found in many different setting and roles. Inpatient/hospital
outpatient/clinic
Adult
Pediatric
Intensive care
Routine hospital ward
Obstetric / Women’s health
Additional opportunities include management as well as advanced degrees such as CRNA and Nurse Practitioner.
