In the USA, most veterinarians in private practice work 40-50 hours /week. Times will vary, e.g. 8 AM - 5PM, but others may work in emergency practices (and are available overnight).
In the USA, most veterinarians spent 3-4 years in an undergraduate college/university following high school. Then, most veterinary curricula are 4 years, For a while, some schools tried to "go year-around" and complete veterinary requirements in 3 years. I don't know whether any schools still offer this plan. You might check with websites of AVMA (https://www.avma.org/) or AAVMC (https://www.aavmc.org/) for more information.
Good luck ! Veterinary Medicine is a great career with a great diversity of employment opportunities (e.g. private practice (large/farm animals, small and or exotic animals, zoological medicine), higher education, biomedical research in private or governmental endeavors (e.g. pharmaceutic development, vaccines, etc.), public health, governmental services (including military), etc., etc.
