Hi Faisal,
From a young age, my career choices have been driven by pragmatism. I focused on industries with moderate barriers to entry but high earning potential, carefully considering how my educational background, personal situation and exit opportunities aligned with the specific economic environment of my country.
For me, it was crucial to prioritize financial survival and independence first. I believe passion is a luxury that can be explored once a stable foundation is established; if a chosen path doesn't fulfill me later on, my early success provides the freedom to pivot.
However, if that foundation already exists for you, you are in a great position to focus on your passion early on. In that case, your journey should look like this:
Discover your "Why": Understand the core purpose behind your interests.
Identify the "What": Pinpoint exactly what you enjoy doing day-to-day.
Develop Competency: Find ways to build elite skills in that field through consistent practice.
Choosing a path based on stability isn't about giving up on your dreams; it’s about building the freedom to pivot later. However, if that foundation already exists for you, you are in a great position to focus on your passion early on. In that case, your journey should look like this:

Choosing a path based on stability isn't about giving up on your dreams; it’s about building the freedom to pivot later. Although with a good head start, you can master what you love and grow in it.

What inspired me to choose my career path was the opportunity to continuously learn, solve problems, work with different people, and contribute to projects that create real impact. I also wanted a career with growth opportunities where I could develop both professionally and personally.
I would advise you to choose a career path that matches both your interests and your strengths, not just what seems popular or financially rewarding. Explore different opportunities early, gain practical experience when possible, and stay open to learning because your interests may evolve over time. The most important thing is finding a field where you feel motivated to grow and continue improving.

Hi, I was very good and very excited by math at a young age. My middle school teacher suggested that if i liked math that accounting would be for me. As I grew in college i spoke to tax accountants to get a feel for what the career would be like and I naturally gravitated towards it. It is important to speak to people in the career you are interested in while you are majoring in college because school is very different than the real world job.
