What would be the best city for me to work my dream job?

I would love to work in a very safe environment.

This question is difficult to answer because everyone is different. There are so many factors that will influence the answer. First is how affordable is the city. If you live in Hawaii, New York, or California, it can be very expensive to find a house in a safe environment. You could be spending millions of dollars to find a house. Second is costs such as state tax and everyday costs. There are federal and state taxes. Some states don't charge a state tax. For example, I live in Nevada and I don't need to pay state taxes and housing is still affordable. So, if I have the same job in California and Nevada, my money will go further in Nevada. Why? Well, when I make money, I don't need to pay state tax, housing is cheaper, and items such as groceries, gas etc are more affordable in Nevada than in California. What are the trade offs? Education and health care not as good as in California. Third issue is what is the job market in that area. For example, if you are a doctor and you work in an area without a lot of doctors, they may pay you more. Another factor for me is my ethnicity. I am Asian and I would want to live in an area that has at least some Asians so I feel like I fit in.

Hi! It really depends on what career path you want to pursue. I would recommend a city that is not too expensive, but still has a lot of fun things for you to do and meet new people. For example, if you love hiking - denver would be a great city to be in. At the end of the day it depends on 1) which city has the best opportunities for your career 2) does the city align with your financial goals 3) will the city be fun for you to live in?

I basically looked at a lot of tiktoks/reels where people go through day in their lives in XYZ city or they are giving travel recs for that city to see if I could see myself living there.
