Great question!
The supply chain industry is everchanging and technology plays a big piece. My experience is in Distribution Centers and the biggest opportunities we see is in people management. While companies can always improve the technology and production rates, people remain a vital part to their success. What becomes challenging is balancing the incorporation of technology without forgetting about your people.
You can always the technical tasks of supply chain, but learning about the people and leading them to success is the true key for the future.

Hello Crystal,
That’s a very interesting question. Predicting the next 10 years can be challenging, especially in a field like supply chain, which changes so quickly.
From what I’ve seen in my experience working with international projects and logistics, this is definitely an important moment for supply chain management. Global events, technology, and sustainability are already transforming how companies operate.
Looking ahead, we can expect more use of technology (like automation and data), stronger focus on sustainability, and more flexible and resilient supply chains.
However, instead of trying to predict exactly where the industry will be in 10 years, I believe the most important thing is to focus on building strong, adaptable skills now — such as problem-solving, communication, and understanding global operations.
Industries evolve, but people who stay curious and adaptable continue to grow with them.
So rather than worrying too much about the future, focus on learning, gaining experience, and staying open to change. That will prepare you for whatever comes next.
Warm greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷
