Believe it or not, your teacher is a great resource for advice. They know exactly where you can improve. Focus on what you can do now and in the future, like your upcoming assignments and tests. Don't hesitate to ask if you can do extra work to boost your grade. It never hurts to ask!
If you've been keeping up but still face challenges, try studying a bit more for your tests, as they often make up a big part of your grade. Keep up with your assignments and study regularly. Good study habits will help you succeed and earn better grades.

Finishing your homework is a good start, but it’s not the main reason grades improve.
The key is what you do with your mistakes. After you finish an assignment or get a test back, don’t just move on. Look at what you got wrong and ask yourself: did I really understand this now, or did I just skip over it?
Try to notice patterns. If you keep making mistakes on the same type of question, that’s a sign you need more focused practice in that area. Work on those specific problems until they feel familiar.
If it’s not about understanding but just careless mistakes, then it’s more about habits. Read questions more carefully, slow down a bit, and check your answers before you finish.
So it’s not just about completing the work — it’s about fixing what you didn’t get right and not repeating the same mistakes. That’s where the real improvement comes from.
