What are some pieces of financial advice to help make it through/into college?
I enjoy shopping but know when to NOT spend money. However, I still find it difficult to actually SAVE my money. I know some expenses are bound to happen but I fear that I might not do so well if I don't know what exactly to expect in college. I know while I'm away, my parents want me to wait a while before I get a job, so how do I prep for college with what money I have?

As mentioned, there is a lot "included" in college fees, especially when you are a freshman. For example, the college I attended had a freshman meal plan that was required. Although it did cost money up front, it made the day-to-day easier and cheaper to buy meals. I found that if I was on campus, I almost always got something for free just walking to class, such as a water bottle, snack, etc. There are always organizations, churches, clubs, etc. set up giving out free items. I did work a part-time job on campus, which I found much easier than working off campus, and it paid more. The jobs I worked were really easy and allowed me to do school work when I wasn't too busy. As far as spending, I didn't allow myself to shop a ton, unless I had an event or something important. I tried to save eating out for the weekends, as well, which is still something I practice when possible. It was always a balance, but there are definitely ways to not spend a ton while in college.

In college, I found ways to save and manage my money. I used meal plans and campus housing as much as possible to cut down on food and housing costs.
I also got a part-time job that fit my class schedule, which helped me earn extra money while studying. I followed a strict budget and avoided spending too much on things like eating out.
Handling money and school together might feel tough, but with some planning and a positive mindset, you can definitely do it!

Take some CLEP tests and save money on not having to retake general studies courses that you likely already took in high school. Get a part time student worker job if you can. Take the minimum number of classes your first semester so you can adjust to the new setting. Redefine what you "need" to buy. What is defined as needful and what is a nice to have is different for everyone. Good luck, you will do well.
