Cecilia Alondra’s Answer

Hi, Mikayla!

It's Cecilia from Mexico. My parents are retired now. My mom was an Accounting Assistant, and my dad was in Business Administration. Before they retired, they traveled a lot. Here are some tips I can share with you:

1. Consider starting a travel agency alongside your job or career. You could enjoy perks like hotel discounts, Disneyland tickets, and frequent flyer miles. My sisters and I suggested this to our parents, but my mom wasn't keen on managing big groups. It might work for you, though!

2. Plan your holidays, days off, and vacations in advance. My parents didn't spend on expensive brands or things like clothes, cars, or purses. Instead, they saved money and carefully planned when and where to spend it on experiences.

3. I've seen Facebook groups for volunteering around the world. People often post looking for a week in places like Medellin, Colombia, offering food and accommodation in exchange for help. It's worth checking out!

I hope these tips help you, and please take lots of photos and videos on your travels!

Many people speMany people wait to travel—until they have more money, fewer responsibilities, or retirement. But travel isn’t just about places; it’s about expanding your mind and your opportunities.
Don’t wait. Travel anywhere! It can be a mountain, a lake, a village, or a big city. What matters is starting!
I began traveling at 21 as a single mother with very limited resources. If I could make it happen, anyone can. It’s not about perfect timing—it’s about making travel a priority and a goal, alongside your career and family. Currently I am an IT professional, have two kids, the support of my home and I travel at least 5 times per year. You can do it!!!

Angelika’s Answer

Travel comes from prioritization, not free time. People who travel a lot design their lives around it instead of waiting for “extra” time. It helps to have careers with flexibility.
Families that travel plan deliberately. Travel is treated as a shared value, supported by routines and long‑term planning, not spontaneity. At the same time travel is budgeted intentionally. It’s a fixed priority, optimized through planning—not leftover money.
Time is created by prioritizing on how it is spent. Less overcommitment elsewhere makes space for travel.

Bottom line: Frequent travel with responsibilities is the result of intentional life design, not luck or having fewer obligations.

Greg’s Answer

Make it a priority, and spend less on everything else. If you have an expensive house, car, hobbies, etc. it may not happen. Note that typical vacation policies make this difficult depending on where you work.
