What are the biggest mistakes students make when trying to turn a passion like sports media, writing, or content creation into a real career and what should I be doing now in college to avoid those and stand out early ?

I’m a college student trying to figure out how to turn my interests in sports media, writing, and content creation into a real career. I want to be intentional with my time in college and make choices that will help me stand out after graduation. I’m also working on building better financial habits like saving more and avoiding unnecessary spending so I can invest in opportunities that actually help my future.
