I am looking into being an aesthetician, but I am not sure if I will be successful?

I am in high school and wanting to be an aesthetician, I already have a medical spa I can work at, and I am not planning on going to college, but I am planning on going to a beauty college. If you have experience with this, can you tell me how easy it is to be successful, get clients, and if I can even be successful only going to a beauty college like Clary Sage or Paul Mitchell or if there are better schools. I have many questions but mainly I am unsure If this path will work out or if I can even make good money not being able to do filler or Botox since I won't have a medical degree, but I love aesthetics.

Hello Katy,
Your inquiry has gone through my weekly mail. You are like a mentor to me. It’s completely normal to feel uncertain about your future—most professionals didn’t have it all figured out at your age. Start by exploring what excites you, whether it’s solving problems, helping people, or creating something new. Every small step you take—like researching a role, shadowing someone, or trying a project—builds clarity over time.
From your description, it seems that you like the beauty industry, which, of course, for females is very important. Unfortunately, I am not in the beauty industry because my profession is in finance, but I would say that for females, it is very important throughout their life to have experience in beauty and to gain some grooming standards and skills in makeup or aesthetics. From my international perspective, because I live in Southeastern Europe, the beauty college tuition is expensive. So you need to plan with responsibilities for the college and to value the money that you spend for the rest of the years that you are studying. In the Balkans, this kind of college has been with the perspective of earning a lot this why we have so many aesthetic beauty clinics. And the number of clinics is on the rise. Confidence isn’t something you’re born with—it’s built by trying, failing, and trying again. Every time you step outside your comfort zone, you grow. Celebrate small wins, like finishing a project or speaking up in class, because those moments add up to big growth. Hope it helps. May the blessing follow you always.
