What are some good ways for a 17-year-old with a CCMA certification to find their first job? I've been searching but haven't been able to find anything yet.

I am a 17 year old female with my ccma and cpt certification. I graduated a month ago and I recently got my cpr certification. Houston, TX area.

This certification can help you find a job quickly. If your job search hasn't been successful, try to find 10 hospitals, clinics, or assisted living facilities that hire CNAs. Research these places, then call and ask to speak with their HR departments. Offer to send your resume and references, and ask them to keep your information for future job openings. This puts you in their system, so you'll be considered first when they need new employees. Instead of waiting for a job to be advertised, you can make sure they know who you are.

Since you are only 17, you might want to look for part-time jobs that can make you a stronger candidate for healthcare roles later. Some employers may not hire someone under 18, so consider working at daycare centers, waterparks as a lifeguard, or in the service industry. These jobs will help you develop skills that are useful in healthcare while you wait to turn 18.
