Hi Ashish! I think the first step toward a better future is to invest in yourself. That starts with your mindset, but it also means taking action. Try to ask yourself: What kind of future do I want? What am I good at? What do I want to learn?
Once you have an idea, choose one small goal to work on first. For example, you could focus on improving your studies, learning English, building computer skills, exploring a career, or developing better communication skills. You do not need to figure out your whole life at once. Just choose one direction and take consistent steps. A better future is usually built through small daily habits: learning, practicing, asking for help, staying disciplined, and not giving up when something is difficult. Talk to teachers, family members, or professionals who can guide you. Also, try to surround yourself with people who motivate you to grow.
The most important thing is to START!

The first step to a better future is to unconditionally believe in yourself. Throughout my career, and life, believing that I am truly capable of anything I set my mind to has been the key to creating the intrinsic motivation within me to achieve my goals. When I wanted a promotion in my first job out of college, many people thought I was under-qualified, didn't have the skills it took to lead a team, and my peers encouraged me not to apply for the opening which would result in a promotion if I got it. I ignored all of them, because I unconditionally believed in myself and knew I had the skills to perform amazingly in that role. So, I applied, was interviewed for the role, and got the promotion. I led a team, grew the business, and increased overall customer satisfaction with the service. I created a new culture of belonging and diversity, and created an atmosphere where employees could thrive in ways I could not before. And, I learned an important lesson that day when I was promoted. That no one, not even my peers at times, will believe in me as much as I believe in myself. And, that when I truly believe that I can make anything a reality for myself if I work hard enough, it will come true. The greatest gift, whether professional or personal, that you can give yourself is envisioning yourself achieving all the wonderful goals and dreams you want to bring into your life. This is just one example, but I have lived this reality over and over again. Believing in myself has led to promotions, presentations, monetary raises, up-skilling, creating better workplaces for others and myself, and more.

It is completely normal for the future to feel overwhelming when you look at the whole mountain at once. But you already know that you want a better future so that's step number 1. Next is believing that YOU can do it and then focus on what you can control and beware of what you can't.
Getting started doesn't require money, luck, or special connections, although they can help no doubt.
Here is how you actually start moving forward:
1. Follow your curiosity
If you have access to a local library or an online library, use it as a place to get started. Pick up topics you know nothing about. Expose yourself to different ideas, flip through pages, and just see what "clicks." When something resonates with you, follow that thread and learn a little more.
2. Learn from the people who came before you
Once you find a field that makes you sit up and take notice, start looking at the people already doing that job. Look at their journeys. What did they do to get ahead? What skills did they build? Never be afraid to ask questions as you’re figuring this out.
3. Do the thinking yourself (and use AI as a sparring partner)
As you learn, don’t just consume information—try to create something with it. Write down your thoughts, build a small project, or summarize what you learned.
A quick piece of advice on AI: Tools like ChatGPT are amazing, but please don't offload your thinking to them. It is really important to build your own critical thinking skills. While many of the fields will continue being disrupted, the value of human connection and authenticity will rise. Do the heavy lifting yourself first. Once you've done the brainwork, use AI to challenge you. Use it to ask you tough questions, point out gaps in your logic, and help you refine your ideas.
4. Build your skills and show up
Once you have a skill, you can start looking for the right rooms to walk into, the right people to meet, and the right opportunities to show the world what you can do.
Focus on your side of the fence, to keep your sanity while you build your future, you have to be brutally honest about what is actually in your hands.
You can control: Going to the library, picking up a book, asking a smart question, and putting your best foot forward.
You cannot control: Whether an opportunity magically lands in your lap, or how other people respond to your efforts.
