Arnold J’s Answer

Lucas, It's a gr8 profession, making people smile. Iv'e been practicing and teaching Orthodontics since the early '70s, and I couldn't have made a better choice. I have chosen a career that makes people healthier, more attractive, and more socially adept. I interact all day long with fascinating individuals, and help them blossom from compromised to fantastic. The most challenging part is the getting there. You need to be in the top 20% of your high school class to be accepted into a good college, in the top 5% to be accepted into Dental School, and in the top 2% to be considered for an Orthodontic Residency. That's 10 years of intensive study. But what a gr8 profession. If you're willing to work hard, go for it.

Hi Lukas,

I got a testimony of a orthodontist that can help you:

Good luck!

Thank you comment icon Hi Lukas, The most challenging part about being an orthodontist is getting the patients to take good care of their hygiene and wear their appliances (elastics/rubber bands, headgear, retainers,etc.,). In order for the orthodontist to achieve a beautiful smile and proper bite, a lot of patient cooperation is required. This entails that the patients take good care of their hygiene because healthy teeth and gums ensure that teeth will move at their optimal rate. Wearing the appliances is very critical to achieving a good bite so that the teeth in the upper and lower jaw bones can properly fit for ideal function. A beautiful smile is not only about the having straight teeth, but also includes healthy teeth and gums free of any plaque and gum inflammation. K Tsang
