Is it possible to have a Pass in Mathematics and still eye scholarships in abroad or other countries ? How slim is it? What is the best advice you can give me?

I studied Mathematics in a prestigious institution and I tried holding on to 2:2 (Second class lower) right from 100-300 level but as life and situations will have it I finished with a Pass (3rd class). Dreams felt impossible and I scared of the next step to take.

Yes, absolutely. One Pass grade in Mathematics does not automatically disqualify you from earning scholarships abroad. Many universities and scholarship providers look at your overall academic performance, not a single subject grade. If you’re applying to a program where mathematics is less central, your strengths in other subjects, leadership, community service, extracurricular activities, personal statement, and recommendation letters can all strengthen your application.

If you plan to pursue a math-intensive field, consider retaking the course if possible or demonstrating your quantitative ability through later coursework or standardized tests.

Don’t let one grade discourage you. Focus on building the strongest overall application you can, and apply broadly. Many students receive scholarships because of their complete profile, not because they earned perfect grades in every subject.
