As a freshman in the Medical Lab Scientist major, what are some things I can do to succeed?

Should I try to apply for an internship during the summer? I am a bit lost in my field.

Remember to be kind to yourself. As a freshman, it's perfectly normal to feel a bit lost as you explore your field. Concentrate on building a solid base in your science classes, developing strong study habits, and learning from your professors and older students.

Definitely consider summer internships! Check if they accept freshmen, and if not, look into lab tours, research opportunities, or volunteering in health-related areas.

Stay curious and keep asking questions. Don’t worry about comparing yourself to others. You don’t need to have everything figured out right now. Focus on learning, improving, and taking small steps toward your goals. With time and experience, your confidence will naturally grow.
