Is becoming any type of surgeon worth it in the end?

When I ask if it's worth it I mean is it worth it financially, mentally, etc. I've always been interested in the medical field but at the beginning of my junior year, my interest really sparked up, it's all I think about 24/7. I have a strong passion for the medical field but I'm not sure what I want to be. I've kind of been steering towards neurosurgeon but I'm not sure. I've heard a lot of people say when you become a surgeon, it's not just a job but a lifestyle and that kind of scares me because although I have a strong desire to join the medical field, I still want to be able to live a balanced life throughout my career.

If that is what you want to do it's totally worth it, besides you want to do something you love. This is a career that you'll spend a lot of time on, it's a challenge that would be rewarding if you're into it. In terms of life-work balance, there's enough time to make your life what you want it to be. But, if more free time is what you're after, there are other fields and specialties in medicine that offer that.

Alexander recommends the following next steps:

There's still a lot of time to find what you love in the medical field and how much free time it affords you, so keep an open mind and enjoy the journey.

Yes! It is absolutely worth it. There are a lot of long hours studying in the library followed by long hours in the hospital, but it is a fulfilling career. There are so many opportunities after medical school... different specialties appeal to different individuals. Or you can follow a nonclinical route in research or even hospital administration.
