What are some of the best ways to aquire friends as soon as I get into colleg?

Many of my current friends do not want to go to the same schools as me. I do know I will have a room-mate however I would still like a friend that is around campus and not in my specific major or building. #Friends

I would consider immediately joining some clubs or intramural sports teams! That's a great way to make some friends right from the start with common interests. You could also look at getting an on-campus job, too! You could meet some friends that you work with while making money!

Hi Malvika, a good first way is to find common ground and shared interests with your roommate(s) and other students in your residence hall. Go to organized events, sign up for clubs and activities that interest you, but basically get involved and put yourself out there. Also, just be yourself. True friends are those who accept you for who you are and respect your thoughts and feelings.

Some good ways to meet new friends while you are in college is to be active such as play sports, attend campus events, join a campus organization, classes such as start a study group and etc.

Great question Malvika. The best way to make friends is to be one! I agree with the others that have posted. Join clubs, get involved in service opportunities, find a new job, join a study group - these are just some of the ways to meet new people. Best wishes!
