Becoming a dental hygienist usually involves a 2–3 year accredited dental hygiene program. Your college coursework includes anatomy, microbiology, oral health, radiography, periodontology, and clinical practice where you treat patients under supervision. After finishing the program, you take national and state board exams to get licensed.

Dental hygienist school and collage consists of a lot of time devoted to studying and understanding not only the teeth and mouth anatomy but the entire human body. Each day you would have to devote 4-6 hours of study time. Managing your time between classes and studying is extremely important. Not every school has same programs so I would recommend to research and pick the best one for you.
