Su’s Answer

Tech is everywhere and as folks called out you can pick any one of them.

I am sure you like certain subjects/fields. I would suggest to figure out tech related to what you are currently liking. After that find companies who are in that field and try to intern there to see if you like it and then pursue for that major.

Trudy’s Answer

With how technology and software has grown in the last 10 years, almost everyone is a technologist! Kids now a days learn applications and software setups thru guided user interfaces with click and point steps on mobile apps.

I would be more inclined to recommend that you first find what is of interest to you. My reasoning...selecting a major for the end result of getting a job in tech firm, may not be what becomes your passion. Many tech firms have all majors in them... Marketing majors usually work in the Marketing or HR departments or Business majors work in the Sales department and of course CS majors work in the R&D teams.

Trudy recommends the following next steps:

Think about what do I like to do
How does that map to my skills
what kind of jobs that I think I would like doing
Do research on what that it takes to get into that career path.
Good Luck

Joanne’s Answer

Any design major. Good technology needs to be designed well with the help of design researchers, user experience designers, and user interface designers. It is a highly competitive field, but has no shortage of opportunities.

Jamie’s Answer

CyberSecurity. There is a severe shortage of people. It doesn’t have to be programming or hacking. Just find a security company and intern there, see if you like it.
