Two roads to financial success:

1. Find a job in with a company that has opportunity to grow over time and start investing EARLY. Having a good paying job is only part of equation. Being smart with the money you make early on is key to being able to grow your earnings.

2. Be an entrepreneur and be willing to take risks!

Charles M’s Answer

People get paid in their career by providing a solution to a problem in exchange for payment. The more valuable the solution is, the more they get paid from a single solution. However, if you can solve many people's problems with a single solution that is copied to each person, they you get paid by how many people purchase your solution.

People who create things entertainment wise, get paid by each person who purchases their product, whether it is a song to listen to, a photo to look at, a video game to play, or whatever. Each copy generates a little income.

People who develop custom solutions to problems get paid based on how much money is involved in the operation. A business manager provides a custom solution to the day-to-day operation of managing the business to get things done. If they manage a few people they get paid less than if they manage a large number of people.

When Boeing sells a plane, they sell the device that helps people travel, for a huge amount of money because it is so big and complex. They don't sell very many planes relative to the number of people who travel. The airlines sell transportation from one place to another. They can only fit a few hundred people on each plane, but they do it again and again and again. So they get paid over and over again for the same solution.

If you want to make a lot of money, figure out what problems you are good at solving and figure out how you can get paid over and over again for selling copies of the solution.

Also figure out how to manage your money so you can keep more of what you earn. It's not how much money you make, that makes the difference, its the difference between how much you make and how little you spend that makes the difference. But don't be a Scrooge, saving pennies at the expense of normal human comforts.
