This would all depend on who you are working for. Most gyms have opportunities for athletic trainers that do not require travel.

AIt really depends on the line of fitness training you are doing, for celebrities, you basically travel with them as part of their program.
Normally, you commute between gyms as a freelancer, but most of the positions don't require traveling at all.
