Sydney’s Answer

Hi Yuliana,

It depends on what you want to do in business. Finance and accounting classes in college are harder and sometimes even require a Masters degree to get a job in that field, but those jobs will start off paying more. Jobs in marketing and management will also pay well, just maybe not as much as the other jobs that are very math intensive. Salaries depend though on years of experience, and what part of the country you live in.

Try going on https://www.glassdoor.com/index.htm and look for jobs that you are interested in, and it will give you salaries of people that do that job in your area of the U.S. I hope this helps!

Hi Yuliana,

It completely depends on what kind of business you want to go into and where you live. I'd encourage you to focus on what you're interest in and find a career from there, rather than going for what you believe might pay the best. You'll be a lot more successful in a career you enjoy.

Best,

Blake

Ali’s Answer

When you think about business salaries, you can break it down by industry and role. Industries that pay the most are tech (google, Facebook, amazon), and financial services (Fannie Mae, JPMorgan Chase, Blackrock), and Professional Services (Deloitte, Bain, Accenture).

In terms of business roles is: the closer to the money you are, the more you get paid. Front office (sales, business development) making the most and back office (accountants, procurement) making less. The only exception to this would be highly technical people (like engineers). I would also note that the jobs that are closer to the money are more likely to get cut when money stops coming in.
