Grace’s Answer

While there are certainly many good universities that provide you great education and will open many doors for you when you graduate, I recommend that you also check out online classes and resources that can get your started or allow you to dive more in depth even before going to college. I went to MIT and Berkeley, and the computer wizzes that I knew did not just learn from school. Some were already computer wizzes before entering university, and most likely their activities in high school made them stand out in the admission process. It's so competitive to get into the top schools that it would be to your benefit to have some activities and achievements that you can talk about in your application, and show you are motivated and a self-starter.

Computer science is quite broad and has many fields, and there are always new things to learn. So if you are still searching and identifying the areas that you are interested in, I also recommend that you think about what types of problem you would like to work on, as different universities have different strengths.

The best schools are University of California, Berkeley, Stanford University, Caltech in Pasadena. That said, a computer science degree from a University enables you to pursue a career in software engineering and their is a shortage of software engineers today.
