Practice, practice, practice. If not working on something for a client, then make up or ask AI to give you an assignment so that you can practice making small videos that tell a story

Depending on the type of video you're doing try to remember that you are telling some kind of story whether this is a mini movie, instructional video or some kind of ad. You don't need edits that are too flashy. Jump cuts and fade ins will do just fine when going from one scene/topic to another.

I do record lot of knowledge transfer sessions. I use Camtasia software to do video editing.
