Ryan’s Answer

It depends on what type of career you chose. It also depends how hard you work, and how much work you can get done. This often means finding ways to expand your impact beyond just yourself. For instance, the highest paid lawyer in the world can only work so many hours in a year. If that lawyer can find ways to get other people or systems working for them though, they will be able to expand their time and earning power.

Scott’s Answer

How much money we make in our careers depends on a number of factors, including but not limited to:

1) . The type of career we choose.

2) . How long we spend in the workforce.

3) . How driven we are to advance your career.

4) . How much innate talent we have with skills important to our professions.

Scott recommends the following next steps:

Read the classic, "What color is your parachute?" to figure out what you might like to do. https://www.amazon.com/What-Color-Your-Parachute-2019/dp/0399581685
Determine how much resource you're willing to commit to obtain the necessary credentials for your desired role. Research the requirements with live job postings on https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/
Subtract the number of years required to obtain the skillset from your estimated years in the workforce. Determine the average salary for your desired job on http://www.Glassdoor.com salary estimator. Multiply your working years by the annual salary.
Adjust the salary up or down depending on how much innate talent and personal development you plan to undertake. Recalculate.
