Should I continue to pursue a career in something I'm highly interested in if there aren't going to be a lot of jobs out there in the future? Do you think criminal justice is a good major?

I'm looking into the criminal justice field because I want to pursue a career as a homicide detective, private investigator, or a special agent. I'm in need of an insight in that field because I have no one else to turn to. Thank you. #criminal-justice

Hi Safa,
Speaking generally, I'd encourage you to pursue criminal justice if you're highly interested in it. Even if you don't end up in the exact role you're imagining now, there may be adjacent jobs that end up being a good fit down the line. Coming to the field with actual interest and enthusiasm will give you a leg up and help you develop skills in an area you care about. These skills will be helpful wherever your career takes you.

Bianca’s Answer

Hi Safa,

I can't necessarily speak on a criminal justice degree however, I would suggest maybe doing a double major or a minor in another area.
