What is a good major to become a physical therapist?

When I went to the open house at Lynchburg College I was introduced to exercise physiology as a good major for becoming a PT since the major matches most of the prerequisites for Grad school. However, it is a very competitive major so I would like to explore more options. that would be a great major for my future career. #physical #therapist

Hi Marissa

I can understand being weary if you're being told a program is competitive. But in this case, I believe it's worth it. I myself graduated with an exercise science/physiology degree prior to PT school and I felt it left me better prepared for the coursework when I advanced into the higher ranks.

Commonly, a lot of people take biology, and this also covers a lot of the prerequisites you might need with regards to the natural sciences. Either should work well to get in, but you will find more crossover if you stick with exercise physiology or kinesiology.
