Charlie nurse practitioners are advanced practice nurses who work in primary and specialty patient care. These professionals are educated, licensed and certified to provide care and prescribe medication in the field. Nurse practitioners must be a registered nurse and have a master's degree in nursing. They are also generally required to pass a certification exam.

NURSE PRACTITIONER (NP)
Nurse practitioners are considered advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs), Fulfilling these requirements may take around 4-7 years to complete. To become a nurse practitioner, you need:
• RN License
• Master's Degree
• APRN Certification

RESISTERED NURSE LICENCE
First, Charlie need to become an RN (registered nurse) and can choose from any number of Colleges or Universities. Unlike registered nurses, nurse practitioners are able to diagnose patients and prescribe medicine to patients. As such, the educational requirements and certification process differs between these two types of nurses. However in order to become a nurse practitioner, it is necessary to first become a registered nurses for, at minimum two year Associate's Degree (ADN). After which, you'll then continue your education by pursuing a Master's of Science in Nursing Degree (MSN). It is possible for individuals to pursue a master's degree following an associate degree; however, it is more common to hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree (BSN) prior to pursuing a master's program. If you do not have a bachelor's degree, then it typically requires more time to complete a master's program. After completing your chosen program and passing the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN), You'll hold the title of Registered Nurse (RN).

MASTER'S OF SCIENCE DEGREE

Salary ranges can vary widely depending on many important factors, including education, certifications, additional skills, the number of years you have spent in your profession.

I would look into Frontier Nursing University (frontier.edu). They are a distance-based learning program, and you go to their campus twice for orientation and again before clinicals. They have one of the best-known distance-based nurse midwifery programs in the US.

As far as nurse practitioner tracks, they have programs for the following specialties:
- family nurse practitioner
- women's health care nurse practitioner
- psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner

For distance-based learning programs, clinicals are usually set up in the area where you live. That way you could stay in Iowa.
